Eggless makmur cookies
Today I am going to share my Makmur cookie recipe. I have been baking this treat every Deepavali for many years. The cookies are buttery. They melt in your mouth. Inside, there is a peanut filling that gives a lovely nutty taste. This has always been a favourite during the festive season and in my family.
Estimated time
1 hour 30 min
Total amount of makmur cookies
Approximately 35 - 50 cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Peanut ( Dry roast and grind it in coarse )
- 60g Sugar ( Grain into powder )
- 250g Wheat Flour ( You can use Plain Flour, I use Wheat Flour)
- 135g Margarine
- Green food colouring ( Or any color of your choice)
Method
π₯Preheat oven to 150Β°C
Mix the ground peanut & ground sugar powder. Now the filling is ready.
Add margarine, food colouring, and wheat flour. Mix until the dough becomes soft.
Take a small ball of dough and press it flat. Add the peanut filling in the center and fold the dough to close it. Shape it like a leaf. Use a baking clip or fork to create lines by gently pressing on the surface.
Preheat the oven to 150Β°C and bake for 30mins.
Take it out of the oven and cool down the makmur cookies.
After the makmur cookies are cooled down , sprinkle with the ground sugar & enjoy it.
